DAVAO CITY, June 19 (PIA) – The public school teachers of Davao del Sur have undergone a three-day webinar training along with all other teachers in the region in preparation for the new teaching/learning approaches.
Dr. Nelson C. Lopez, Schools Division Superintendent of the Department of Education of Davao del Sur, said that the training on the New Normal Classroom Modality will be part of the series of trainings that the teachers will have to undertake before the opening of classes on August 24, 2020.
“As of today, our teachers are undergoing a 3-day online webinar for the whole Region XI. The training is live and our speakers are from the [DepEd] central office,” Lopez said in the vernacular during yesterday’s live virtual presser of PIA (Philippine Information Agency) Davao del Sur Facebook page.
This move is in preparation for the compliance to the ‘New Normal’ which also ensures that the public health safety protocols shall be observed and the general welfare of learners and teaching staff are well protected.
Lopez said that the teachers are undergoing specific training required by DepEd Central Office.
He said that teachers and non-teaching personnel who don’t have the capacity for the online facility can join the webinar trainings at DepEd Davao del Sur Classroom situated at their Schools Division office in Digos City.
Due to the establishment of pre-existing facilities by DepEd Davao del Sur, Lopez said that this has greatly benefited the current distance learning training that the teachers and instructors are undergoing.
“Through our DepEd Davao del Sur Classroom, we have conducted webinars for the division of Davao del Sur,” Dr. Lopez added in the vernacular. (PIA XI/Kevin Paolo L. Caro)
